Biography

Jaroslav Wasserbauer (*24 September 1962, Nové Město na Moravě) is a Czech glass artist who focuses on free-standing geometric and organic glass objects.

He works primarily with fused glass, which he uses to create abstract shapes. Surface texture, colour and the relationship of objects to light play a key role in his work. The light effects accentuate the volume and deformations of the individual parts, while the ground surfaces allow light to penetrate into the interior space of the sculptures.

He carries out the entire process of creation - from sketching, through the creation of the plaster model, melting and cooling to the final finishing and grinding - himself, which gives his works their uniqueness.
